The programme “Let’s Grow this Business” which is funded by the European Union (EU) and jointly carried by IOM, Turkey’s Directorate General of International Labour Force (DGILF) and International Labour Organization (ILO) continues to support the Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SME) in Turkey.
As a result of the programme’s third phase interviews, financial and consultancy support will be given to 50 SMEs. 76 out of 508 SMEs were called for the interviews and the interviews will continue until 25 June 2021.
25 Turkish and 25 Syrian SMEs will be selected at the end of the interview process and 50 thousand Turkish Liras will be given to the selected SMEs to support their businesses. The programme’s officials held an online meeting before the interviews started and discussed the interview process.
Within the scope of the programme, priority will be given to companies owned by women and young business owners under the age of 30.
SMEs should be established at least a year ago and must have a product or a service. SMEs from many sectors such as medical, defence, agriculture, textile, manufacturing, software, machinery and chemistry, etc. applied for the programme. The programme aims to raise awareness and skills for SMEs on issues such as strategic management, innovation, opening to international markets, etc.
So far, 88 businesses that have applied to the first two phases of the programme have been provided with consultancy support and 50 thousand Turkish Liras.
By participating in the programme, SME owners had the opportunity to work with business development consultants and increased their trade volumes. SMEs also had the opportunity to open up to the international market and had a significant increase in their employment capacities.
