IOM Turkey Emergency Coordinator David Savard and IOM personnel visited Mayor of Keçiören Municipality, Turgut Altınok on June 21st, 2021 to discuss the ongoing Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration funded Keçiören Migrant Services Project. During the visit, David Savard and Turgut Altınok highlighted the importance of cooperation to improve social cohesion among migrant and host communities and agreed to strengthen collaboration between Keçiören Municipality and IOM Turkey.
IOM Turkey has been operating Keçiören Migrant Services Centre and provided services to 32.150 beneficiaries since 2016. The Migrant Services Centre provides services like interpretation, counselling, referral services in the areas like vocational, legal, health, education, psychosocial support and other social services. The centre organizes various educational and social cohesion activities for migrant and host community members.
