Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer officially visited the newly opened IOM & Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Social Cohesion Centre to honour World Refugee Day on 20th June. During the meeting, Mayor Seçer was provided with detailed information by the IOM Project Field Coordinator and Municipality partners about the Centre's role, goals, activities, and services. The Mayor emphasized the importance of the partnership with the IOM Turkey to strengthen the social cohesion among the host and migrant communities. The Social Cohesion Centre does not only aim to enhance harmonization within the society but also provides information and referral services as well as awareness-raising informative sessions in the scope of a provision of counselling services for migrants and refugees.
