IOM conducted a workshop on preventive measures for communicable diseases at Border Crossing Points in the scope of the EU funded "Under the Regional Cooperation on Border Management with Greece and Bulgaria – Phase 2" Project. The workshop was delivered by two national experts to discuss the finding of the field assessment at Border Crossing Points. The workshop held in Istanbul between the dates of 30 March-01 April 2021 with the participation of 25 officials from the Turkish Coast Guard Command, Gendarmerie General Command, Turkish National Police, Directorate General of Migration Management and Directorate General of Health Services for Borders and Coasts of Turkey. The participants analyzed the findings of the assessment both from a technical and legal point of view. Officials from the project’s beneficiaries proposed practical options and solutions for trilateral cooperation on admission-related legal frameworks, mitigation measures, contingency and continuity plans for Border Crossing Points.
